About Josh Kaufman
This site is a personal collection of quotes, essays, photographs, and links to interesting reading on the web. I maintain this site in my spare time, whenever I come across something I think is worth saving and sharing. I hope you find it useful.
My Story:
I’m an avid reader, synthesist, and a student of many subjects. A graduate of New London High School in New London, Ohio, I attended the University of Cincinnati for my undergraduate work and received a BBA in Business Information Systems with minors in commercial real estate and philosophy. (Kind of a random DIY liberal arts degree.)
While attending UC, I landed my first job as a co-op student with Procter & Gamble, working on a brand new interactive marketing program. After graduation, I started working for P&G full-time in brand marketing. I worked on Mr. Clean, Swiffer, Dawn, and Cascade. I learned a lot about creating and launching new products, but marketing ultimately wasn’t for me - I missed online technology too much. At present, my job is figuring out how P&G can best use online media in a way that actually makes sense.
I spent the summer after graduation working on the Personal MBA, an entrepreneurial approach to business education. The idea took off, and ultimately was featured in BusinessWeek, which is pretty cool. The PMBA was recently updated in August of 2007 and currently has a blog and an active forum, so please drop by and join the discussions if you’re in the mood to talk business and books.
I’m constantly involved in several personal projects… I like to keep busy and learn by doing. If you subscribe to my RSS feed, you’ll find out about them as soon as they go live.
My wife, Kelsey, and I currently live on the Upper East Side of New York City. If you’re ever in the area, please let me know and I’d be happy to show you around!
